Amazing K is a specialist autism and early intervention school for children who need more support with communication, learning, participation, regulation and everyday independence.

Our classrooms are calm, structured and nurturing. Children learn in small groups, with visual support, hands-on activities and guidance that reflects their individual developmental needs.

We focus on helping each child communicate, participate, build confidence and become more independent.

What Is Amazing K?

A school, a developmental programme and a place to belong.

Amazing K combines structured education with communication support, developmental guidance and practical life-skills learning. Children are not expected to fit into one standard way of learning. The environment is adapted to help them understand, engage and participate successfully.

Who We Support

For children who need a different kind of school environment.

Amazing K enrols children aged 2–6 years who experience developmental differences affecting communication, learning, play, participation, behaviour or everyday independence.

Many children have an autism diagnosis. Others are awaiting assessment or have developmental, communication, sensory or learning concerns that make a mainstream preschool environment difficult.

A formal diagnosis is not required before a parent contacts us.

Communication Comes First

Every child deserves an effective way to express themselves.

Communication is supported throughout the school day rather than being limited to one activity or appointment.

Children may use spoken language, visual supports, picture communication, sign language, AAC devices or a combination of methods. The aim is to help each child understand, express needs, make choices, answer questions, connect with others and participate meaningfully.

Group Learning Builds Confidence

Children learn with and from one another.

Small-group classrooms provide daily opportunities to practise waiting, sharing, turn-taking, listening, following group instructions, answering questions and celebrating the success of classmates.

Children are supported at the level that is right for them. For one child, participation may begin with sitting near the group. For another, it may mean joining discussions, games and cooperative activities.

Amazing K is structured like a school, with predictable terms, classroom routines and a programme that helps children prepare for future educational settings.

School Terms

Amazing K follows a four-term calendar aligned with the ISASA schedule. Intensive support is provided during term time, and there is no holiday programme.

Meals

Families send food suited to their child’s dietary, feeding and sensory needs. Refrigerators and microwaves are available at the school.
