Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We’re seeking an experienced In-School Speech Therapist to join our dedicated team. This position offers a competitive monthly salary dependent on your experience with autism and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
- In-School HALF Day Therapist (Mornings Only)
- In-School HALF Day Therapist (Afternoons Only)
- Full-Time Speech Therapist at Sharonlea Campus, Randburg
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy services to children aged 2 – 10 years with various levels of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
Requirements:
- Registered with the HPCSA
- 1-5 years of experience working with children with autism in either a school or practice setting
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Solid knowledge of autism as a spectrum disorder
- Good administrative experience
- Ability to deal with customers and have knowledgeable “autism/speech” related conversations with the families of young newly diagnosed children
- Proficiency in Makaton is an added bonus.
- PECS knowledge is a bonus
- GOTALK experience an advantage
- Strong track record in implementing effective speech therapy interventions.
- Self-starter that is able to take initiative and implement systems and procedures
- Excellent report writing skills needed
