Dear Principal, Teachers, and Amazing K Team, I would like to express my appreciation for the love, support, guidance, assistance and much more that you have given for my son Logan Rayner. We as Special needs parents know it is not an easy “job” as a parent /teacher to take care of a special needs child. Amazing K has gone above and beyond what is needed. We freely and truly recommend Amazing K to any special needs parents. We wish you much more strength and courage to do what you’re destined to do. Good afternoon Ilse🌸 Bophelo’s report well received thank you very much…I have to say, it’s only been a term since Bophelo started at the school but my word the improvements are great☺️ one of her biggest challenges is communicating her feelings but lately she actually asks, verbally, for food when we dish up😊 I hear a lot of ‘’Mommy’ lately…daddy still gets called by name😄but it’s all heartwarming…she does Tik Tok videos with her sister…So all thanks to you and the teachers, your phenomenal work doesn’t go unnoticed…🌸

Dear Randburg Sun We enrolled Deanna into Amazing K Jan 2016 and not one day have we ever doubted our decision as to whether we made the right choice in picking the school. Before Deanna joining Amazing K we had her in a creche were she was with 28 other children She hated every moment of it and never wanted to participate in any class activities. No one knew what the problem was. She would hide under a table and not communicate with anyone eventually she stopped talking. After seeing an educational psychologist and then a specialist – She was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism That was what prompted us to look for Special Needs Schools that can work with her condition and fulfil her educational needs. After phoning/visiting numerous special needs schools I can definitely endorse Ilse and her team at Amazing K. I won’t ever forget the conversation that I had with her that day when I phoned to find out more about the school. Telling her my story and asking the 20 questions. She said:”Come for coffee, lets chat some more. You are not alone and I am here for you.” As a parent I cannot explain the relief I felt when someone told me that I am not alone and that they are here to help. In this past year Ilse & the teachers at Amazing K has taught me so much about raising a child with ASD condition. I feel blessed! I have seen a drastic improvement in her behaviour since joining the school. Every day my child is excited to go to school, happy to explore more avenues of her own personality. She is being equipped with tools to help her function in a world that does not understand her needs or behaviour. My Childs curriculum has been adjusted to suit her needs, not only for education purposes but also for mental and physical wellbeing. Smaller classes to ensure every aspect of my child’s development are being met and finally, through the school I have been put in touch with specialists that know the ASD condition. My child had become more social, independent and willing to learn more. Deanna does not allow anyone to touch or cut her hair. It was a problem I raised with her teacher as I cannot take my daughter to a hairdresser. Teacher Cass offered to accompany me and Deanna to a hairdresser on a Saturday and for her to go beyond the call of duty just shows what kind of special school Amazing K is. Teacher Cass is now Deanna’s “personal hairdresser” as she is the only one Deanna allows to cut and brush her hair. If I had to write a letter to endorse Amazing K I do not think there will be enough words to express my gratitude for the change that I see on a daily basis in my child. The people at the school have a great amount of passion and total understanding for what they do and what is needed. They understand all our challenges and our children’s needs. They are people’s people and no task is impossible for them to achieve when working with special needs children. I am proud to part of the Amazing K family. Keep up the great work!!!! I want to share what Amazing K has done for us over the last 9 months and what they mean to us and our 4 year old boy, Jacques. Our difficult journey started in April 2015 when our eldest had to go to nursery school after our second one was born and when I needed to go back to work after my maternity leave. Up to that point we were fortunate that he could stay with his Ouma, and he was nearly 3 years old then. We placed him in a nice small nursery school. At first he really enjoyed his new school and it was going fairly well, if you close your eyes at some incidents, like watering the school and the dog with the hosepipe, or removing his underpants at the school concert!!! It became apparent that Jacques was struggling, he could not sit still in class and could not play along with the other kids, he just was not making any friends, in fact the kids were chasing him away. It broke my heart… He started to say his stomach aches before school, he was just not happy anymore. We started a journey with a Child Psychologist, and also took Jacques to a Psychiatrist. He was diagnosed with severe ADHD, and after a long road and medication and meetings with the school principle and his teacher, things did not improve. It was the Psychologist who told us, she thinks we might be looking at Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We were devastated. We also realised that we needed to get Jacques in another school. A Dr confirmed and diagnosed Jacques with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and ADHD. I have never felt so distraught in my whole life, as I realised there weren’t a lot of schools for Jacques, and they were very costly. I found Amazing K online and our Psychologist also said that she believes the school would be good for Jacques. From day one Jacques was so happy in his new school, and he has grown so much, his language pronunciation has improved so much, he is calmer and happier! He even have a couple of friends. Everyday is still a challenge, but we do not know where we would have been, have it not been for Amazing K. They are doing an amazing job and they mean the world to a lot of parents and kids! They say one must walk in another’s shoes to understand what they are going through. Well, I have done that from the day that my little boy (now 4.5yrs) was diagnosed with Autism. My husband and I had him in a normal creche for over two years. However, as there was still no progress on his speech, we decided to look for a school that could cater for autistic children. Believe you me; it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Oh sure, there is a lot of remedial schools, if you living in Cape Town! So one morning, my dad (who lives at the coast) gave me a call and told me that he came across a website for an early intervention centre for autistic children in Northworld. To make a long story short, we went for an interview, where we were welcomed with open arms and right away we felt that we had made a right move in the right direction. Ilse and the amazing K team opened up their house and hearts to welcome my little boy, where he felt at ease and at home. He only started in the second term (April) this year (2016) and it is such a blessing to be able to have a little boy start saying words and almost forming sentences in such a short time. The incredible progress that has happened in just a few months is unbelievable. All thanks to the Amazing-K team. Amazing-K has been our sanctuary. A place where we know our little one can grow and learn so that one day he to can be part of society. It’s already hard trying to find a place where people, like Ilse, give up their time and make such a great effort in assisting parents, like myself. It’s not just a place where we can have our children educated, but it’s a support system for us as parents. When I felt all alone and had no place to turn to because it felt like at times that no one understood what we were going through as parents of autistic children, we now to, have a place and people to turn to. Hello, My name is Prevashnie , I personally just want to say thank you for Amazing K and, such awesome people! Thank you for giving our kids an education when they were turned down by other schools. Thank you for educating people when clearly they don’t know about autism and what parents go through having there kids turned away from other schools , and most of all thank you Ilse and team for standing up for schools like this one: for opening your door and giving our children a safe haven. I personally want to say that for many years my husband and I were basically mislead by many schools and tutors with regards to EDUCATION for my son. He was turned down by many schools until we found Amazing K – which was god sent , My son is performing very well at Amazing K , we were so happy with the school ,that we relocated from the south of Johannesburg to the North so we can be near to the school . The school , Tutors / Owners are amazing people. The School is a clean / Safe environment and has done miracles with many kids.

Amazing K – not just a school! Amazing is what this school is. My son has developmental problems and delayed in a lot of areas compared to his peers but since coming to the school. I have seen wonderful and well in fact amazing changes in my son. His speech is developing and he interacts a lot with his fellow classmates. Always bubbly and smiling and singing and I believe that Amazing K is the reason for that. After a mainstream crèche couldn’t handle him and I had to find a school for him and fast, Amazing K gladly welcomed my son and began assessment to help him. I am a proud mommy and I don’t regret letting my son come to the school. Amazing K is a wonderful school that is helping children like my boy live a happy life in a safe and wonderful environment. I couldn’t have made a better choice.

Thanks you again to amazing K for all your hard work. Her language and social skills are also impressive. Pass our gratitude to the teachers who laid this beautiful foundation. I can’t stop raving about what Amazing K offered our little princess.

I hope you well. Thank you so much for our little guy. He really seems to be enjoying being there. He is constantly happy, never has random cries, no biting of fingers and less grinding. He’s really showing less frustration. He eats and sleeps way better. He practically sleeps the whole night.
