26 Sep Term 3 Highlights at Amazing K!
This term has been nothing short of inspiring at Amazing K. We are always looking for ways to grow alongside our community, and the past few months have given us so much to celebrate.
Hosting the WITS 3rd-Year Speech Therapy Students
We had the privilege of welcoming WITS 3rd-year Speech Therapy students for their autism block. Watching these young therapists-in-training transform from nervous newcomers into confident professionals has been remarkable. Over the course of their placement, they have:
- Gained in-depth knowledge of autism
- Learned to think on their feet in real-life classroom settings
- Explored AAC and practiced basic Makaton signs
- Built skills in assessment, therapy lesson planning, and implementation
- Observed and applied strategies in Playground and Feeding Therapy
Their growth has been a true reminder of the impact that hands-on learning can make.
My practical experience at Amazing K has been truly eye-opening and rewarding. This is my first time working in a school specifically for autistic children, and I’ve learned how unique each child’s needs and strengths are. Every session has taught me something new, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing how differently each child presents and connects. The staff and therapists have been incredibly supportive, always willing to guide us and answer questions, which has made this learning experience both enjoyable and impactful.
My experience as a student speech therapist at Amazing K has been truly invaluable. I expected to learn some things, but the extent of what I have gained has far exceeded my expectations, and I will be forever grateful for that. It has been an absolute blessing and joy to work with everyone at Amazing K, from the teachers, Ilse, the speech therapists, and of course, the kids (who stole my heart from day one). Thank you, Amazing K, for giving me such a meaningful and inspiring practical experience.
Milestones for Amazing K
Alongside the students’ journey, Amazing K has celebrated several key achievements this term:
- Completion of our 3rd Campus, with Term 4 already bringing plans to expand therapy facilities further.
- A 97% re-registration rate for 2026—a testament to the trust and confidence families place in us.
- Celebrating many “firsts” for our children and seeing older students transition successfully into more mainstream environments.
As Term 4 approaches, we are deeply grateful for the growth, teamwork, and sense of community that shine through every day at Amazing K. Together, we continue to build a place where children, families, and future professionals thrive.
