Bridging Programme

A gentle bridge into structured group learning.

The Amazing K Bridging Programme has been specifically designed for children who require additional support transitioning from a home-based, one-to-one or highly supported environment into a structured group setting.

Programme Focus Areas

The Bridging Programme focuses on helping children develop the communication, learning and social skills required for successful participation within a group environment.

Communication Development

Communication remains at the heart of everything we do. Children are supported to develop verbal language, functional communication skills, early conversational abilities and social communication within a group setting.

Speech-Centred Curriculum

Our intervention approach remains speech-centred, with communication opportunities embedded throughout every activity and routine.

AAC & Sign Language

Children are introduced to Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems and basic sign language where appropriate to support communication growth and reduce frustration.

Cooperative Learning

Children are encouraged to learn alongside their peers through carefully structured group activities that promote engagement, communication, flexibility and social interaction.

Fine Motor and Table-Top Skills

Daily activities support the development of fine motor control, visual-motor integration, pre-writing readiness, attention to task and participation in structured learning activities.

Sustained Attention and Learning Readiness

Children are supported to gradually increase their ability to attend, participate, follow routines and engage in teacher-directed activities.

Preparing For Group Learning

Children learn to share space and materials, cope with transitions, adapt to change, follow classroom routines and communicate effectively with both adults and peers.

Gross Motor Development

Gross motor activities form a smaller component of the afternoon programme and are incorporated primarily to support regulation, participation and social engagement.

Our Philosophy

Every child deserves opportunities to participate successfully.

The Bridging Programme follows the same child-centred philosophy as all Amazing K programmes, focusing on meaningful communication, positive relationships, cooperative learning and developmental readiness.
