In-School Speech Therapist

Join our dedicated team supporting autistic children in Randburg.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Amazing K is seeking an experienced In-School Speech Therapist to join our team.

This position offers a competitive monthly salary dependent on your experience with autism and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services to children aged 2–10 years with various levels of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.

Requirements

• Registered with the HPCSA.
• 1–5 years of experience working with children with autism in either a school or practice setting.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Solid knowledge of autism as a spectrum disorder.
• Good administrative experience.
• Excellent report writing skills.

Additional Experience That Will Be Valued

• Ability to deal with customers and have knowledgeable autism/speech-related conversations with the families of young newly diagnosed children.
• Proficiency in Makaton is an added bonus.
• PECS knowledge is a bonus.
• GO TALK experience is an advantage.
• Strong track record in implementing effective speech therapy interventions.
• Self-starter who is able to take initiative and implement systems and procedures.
